Gym and I had to break up.

I really tried to like it. I went like 9 times (I think thats fair. Would you go on 9 dates with a person you didn't like? Nopes, didn't think so. I was definitely being fair).

But I just couldn't get in to it. I know a lot of people really do and I think thats fabulous, but as it turns out I had 5 pretty solid reasons for not liking it.

1. After having three kids, I really want abs. So after every cycle of ab work I have to go check if they are there. And lets be honest -- that's really awkward in a gym.

2. You have to GO to the GYM. And that just takes so much effort. Too many excuses to even count in that area. Mainly, getting dressed. Brushing your hair and teeth. Finding time in your schedule (inevitably early morning makes the most sense)... I DON'T WANT TO.

3. People. Exercise is my time in the zone and I don't feel like being chatty. But I also don't want to be the rude girl either. (Seriously, it's a problem). But like...people want to be friends and I'm like... I just want abs.  (See Reason #1) This isn't a widely accepted rule most places (but it should be!)

4. Sharing. This varies with what gyms you go to and what equipment you like, but invariably you have to pause or alter your workout to "play nice with others".  I don't like it.  Perhaps thats me projecting my toddler-like world onto adults but I just want to scream "IT'S MINE!" and push them off of whatever it is they have that I want.

5. Coming home. The drive home. You got TO THE GYM, but is it really safe to drive after leg day? I don't think so. In my experience I like to lay on my carpet for a good 20 minutes (another behavior that would just be really awkward at the gym) but still. The drive home. Gross. I just want to lay in my sweat for a little bit.
