In Honor of Veteran's Day

Today I have received numerous messages thanking my family for our sacrifice as a military family.

For those of you who aren't familiar with my family - my husband has served in the military for 9 years. We have moved 6 times in our 5 years of marriage in pursuit of his training and ultimate dreams. We've had babies on both coasts, spent holidays alone, gone weeks without communication and endured the endless "unknown variables" of military life.

I want to take a minute to acknowledge the sacrifices, because they are a huge part of my family's life. My children open chocolate kisses from their Daddy instead of get them from him directly. They write him a daily message instead of tell him about their day. They pray for his safety instead of hug him goodnight.

But I want it known that ABOVE a life of sacrifice we live a life of ABUNDANT BLESSINGS.

We are safe. We are provided for. We know a man who loves what he does. We are guided by a man brave enough to go after his goals and courageous enough to not give up. We are led by a man who loves us, loves his country and who has humbled himself to a position of servitude.

This lifestyle has helped satisfy my need to travel. It has taught me the value of time, the importance of friendships and most importantly...

>>the necessity of my faith<<

We wouldn't be who we are as a family without the blessing of the military.
We sacrifice a lot, but I prefer to think of my life as truly blessed above all else. I hope when others look at my life that's what they see, too. Perspective is seriously of paramount importance, and it is my mission that despite the tears and sad times I will focus on the good.
