What's a Challenge Group?

I know, I know.

The world "challenge" may have already sent you running for the hills. (Or, well...at least walking quickly.) If you're like me you hate the word CHALLENGE almost as much as you hate the word RUNNING.

You know what's a challenge to me?
Showering.
Eating a hot meal.
Finding a shirt that doesn't smell like spit up.
Walking through my house without stepping on a duplo.

With challenges like those, I sure didn't want to join a "challenge group".  What's the saying? Oh yea.



I wrote it off before I knew diddly-squat about it. But then I saw stuff like this popping up on my newsfeed. 

And so then I was like...

I HAD to know just what all my friends were getting in to! 

As it turns out, a "challenge group" is simply a place for accountability and encouragement. The motto is something like exercise + nutrition + support = RESULTS. And when it was broken down like that, it seemed more appealing. Less intimidating. Doable. Let me break it down for you.

EXERCISE
You see, the exercise was a struggle for me.

 I didn't have time to get to the gym, I didn't have a sitter and NOT TO MENTION ---> I didn't want to work out in front of people. With at-home workouts, ALL those excuses were thrown out the window. 

A variety of programs let me choose my fitness level (Hi, I'm Meghan and I'm a BEGINNER. Give me the preschool of exercise, thanks).  It also let me choose a time frame that worked for me. For me, that meant giving up ONE episode of a TV show I liked to watch. (But not really, thanks DVR!) 

NUTRITION
She may be little, but she will tear that burrito up. And the hot wings. And the pizza. And I'd like to wash it down with a Mt. Dew followed by a blizzard, thankyouverymuch. 

Nutrition was a struggle to say the least! I didn't have the know-how or the desire to change my eating habits. I knew I needed to, but I just liked cheese. And carbs. And sugar. 

Enter Shakeology. You can read about the awesome benefits here, but to keep it brief I like to say "change NOTHING but drinking this shake once a day". Don't try to complicate it. Just try it, and see how you feel from there. ((You can thank me later!)) :) 

SUPPORT
This is the final puzzle piece. The heart of challenge groups. Women, coming together from all over, to ENCOURAGE each other. It's all online in a private group - so all you have to do is turn to this when you fee defeated and discouraged. 

The group is a place to share your struggles, get answers and ideas to help you overcome your obstacles and most importantly, have support from women who understand what you are going through. We share recipes, motivation, ideas, struggles and success. 

THAT'S IT. 

We don't require you to follow insane diets. We don't insist you "never miss a workout". We are real women, with real families, jobs, love handles, food cravings, and a real desire to push past a plateau. To change something about our current situation. 

The challenge is in the change. You gotta want that for yourself. When you do, I'll be here. To help. To listen. To encourage. To guide. To celebrate your change. 

And trust me. I like to party.
