Super Secret Salmon Recipe




Being from Iowa I didn't have much experience with fish.

After I grew up and moved away, I learned fish is really healthy for you! I also moved towards the coasts, which made fish a more common thing on menus and in grocery stores.

I've got to say, the eyeballs inside the butcher counter freak me out still, but I have found my groove with salmon!

First tip:
Buy wild caught salmon if possible. I know, I know. Salmon can be expensive for some of our budgets but know that for my family of two adults and two kids (that eat real food) we buy 1 pound and have plenty. So just buy one pound and figure out how that goes! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but I promise I have hearty eaters around my table and we all have enough with just one pound and the side dishes!





How to prep: 
Preheat oven to 450.
Cover a cookie sheet in aluminum foil.
Lay salmon (scale side down) on foil
Poke holes in it with a fork
Drizzle with olive oil
Add salt and pepper
Bake for 10-15 minutes

Oh, thats all. Haha! You can make a lot of different glazes and sauces and crusts but honestly this is the most simple way to enjoy salmon! Super healthy, no fuss!

With it I serve:
a side salad (spinach with craisins and nuts!)
green beans or roasted asparagus
roasted baby red potatoes
